ECCE – The Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme

The ECCE Scheme is a programme designed to give children a FREE pre-school year of appropriate programme-based activities in the year before they start primary school. As part of the scheme, children will receive pre-school year sessions for three hours a day, five days a week over 38 weeks (from Sept 2014 to June 2015) from 9.00am to 12.00pm daily at no cost to the parent.

Who is eligible?

In general, children are eligible for the ECCE scheme if they are aged over three years two months and under four years seven months on 1st September of the year that they will participate in ECCE.

What happens during school holidays?

Children attending are funded for school terms only (namely September 2014 to June 2015).  The ECCE calendar will be provided in September 2014.

Optional Extras

Parents of children availing of the ECCE scheme at Busy Fingers may wish to choose additional services from our wide range of activities.  These additional options do not affect the status of the free ECCE sessional care we provide from 9.00am to 12.00pm daily.  However, fees will apply for any additional options the parent chooses.
